Since 1986, numerous attorneys and law firms from Florida, California, New York, Washington D.C., and other states have referred cases to our Miami-based personal injury law firm. Jeffrey R. Davis P.A. welcomes the opportunity to speak with other attorneys regarding potential case referrals.

Please call us at (305) 577-3777 to discuss prospective co-counsel and other case referral arrangements.

The firm has collaborated with other attorneys in both state and federal court litigation for complex litigation, to specifically handle personal injury claims linked with other types of claims, and occasionally simply to relieve pressure from time or resource constraints.

Fee Arrangements

We offer referral fee and joint venture arrangements that conform to Florida Bar regulations while properly reflecting the division of labor and risk involved in a given case collaboration.

See Florida Bar Rule 4-1.5(f)(4)(D) for specific guidelines on the reasonable division of fees between lawyers in different firms, whether based on collaboration with primary and secondary responsibility, or substantially equal active participation. The basic standard for division of fees is as follows:

  • Minimum of 75% of the total fee to the lawyer assuming primary responsibility.
  • Maximum of 25% of the total fee to the lawyer assuming secondary responsibility.
  • If equal active participation, the 25% limitation shall not apply. Counsel must apply to the court for authorization of the fee division contract.

See Florida Bar Rule 4-1.5(g) for minimum requirements that must be met before any division of fees may take place.

Someone who truly cares! We had been dealing with a legal issue for over two years with another attorney, with no results. Jeff Davis stepped in, and has made more progress in a few months, than we had in over two years. He communicates absolutely everything with his...

Do not recommend. His staff made several mistakes on our case due to lack of care and attention. Jeff is more worried about covering himself and collecting his fee, than he is in following through on what he had promised. He has wasted our money and time and caused us a...
